The Synod consists of congregations located in Northern Louisiana including Monroe and Shreveport, Northern Texas generally north of a line from Marshall, Longview, Tyler, Rosebud, Bartlett, Kileen, San Angelo, and Midland/Odessa, one congregatation in Durant, Oklahoma and one congregation in Clovis, New Mexico. There are over 37,000 members in 120 congregations. The Bishop is Kevin Kanouse who was elected to his second six year term in 2006. Bishop Kanouse succeeded Bishop Emeritus Mark Herbener in 2000. The NT-NL Synod is known as the DiscipleLife Synod. The NT-NL has declared that its purpose is to be Sowing and Growing Disciples of Jesus.
